NOC Performing Schedule Maintenance - Please Note:


Dear Valued Customer,

This email is to notify everyone of a network maintenance window from 12:00 to 1:00 AM Sunday, September 28th.  The window is to upgrade the supervisor card in one of our distribution switches. Although this maintenance is limited to one distribution switch, it has the potential to affect all customers so we are notifying everyone. We are allowing one hour for the maintenance, but the actual downtime should be much less if the upgrade goes smoothly. We are aiming for as little as 15 minutes of downtime.  Please be advised of this scheduled maintenance window and allow for adequate time to pass before opening up any support tickets during this maintenance window.  We thank you in advance for your time and understanding in this matter.

Emergency Maintenance - Server2 & Server5

Since last few hours we are working with the NOC technicians to resolve the slow speed issue on server2 and server5 which was reported by many customers after the server hardware upgrade. To resolve the issue we did many config change/ tweaks at server end but none has worked. NOC has also changed the server cable to resolve issue but the error was there. So, we have decided to change the NIC Card on emergency basis. The maintenance may take around 5-10 minutes and durring that server will be shutdown. Please have patience and bear with us during this emergency maintenance!

Server2 and Server5 now on new hardware with the same config in terms of dns/ip addresses etc. All hosting accounts are successfully copied from the old servers to new servers by the NOC technicians. Currently, we in-house technical team is cross checking the copied accounts.

The old drives will be removed from the new servers as per following schedule:

    July 26, 2008 at 2AM EST 

This may result in slight downtime of approx 5-10 minutes.

New servers are in build room of NOC and ready to have data copied on them. We have asked NOC technicians to schedule the data transfer tonight 2AM EST, to minimize any disturbance the downtime may cause. They shall confirm the same very soon and begin the data copy process, during which websites and other services won't work on old servers.

We had a detailed discussion with the NOC technical staff and they assured us that this upgrade will result in very minimal downtime. In their own words, "The upgrade should result in very little downtime. In fact, we can schedule the removal of your old servers from the rack (once you have verified that we have transferred the data correctly) for a time late at night, to create minimal disturbance. The downtime would be the amount of time required to pull the old servers from the rack and replace them with your new servers; fairly minimal."

They have re-scheduled the migration of data on Tuesday - Wednesday (7/22/08) because their most of the technical staff are available during the week (i.e. Mon - Fri).

We shall post the more details as soon as available.

Server2 & Server5 Hardware Upgrade Schedule Maintenance

Please Note: This announcement is regarding server2 and server5 so customers who are having their account on these two servers should read below for complete details.

For the betterment of our customers' website experience, we are going to upgrade the hardware of these two servers by replacing the current servers. New custom made servers with latest and upgraded hardware are being built today (Thu July 17, 2008) by the NOC. Their staff will setup the servers with latest CentOS 5.x operating system while keeping the current servers configuration as it is. The data transfer process will be handled by NOC Technical and Expert Staff on Saturday July 19, 2008. During the data transfer process and later while placing the new servers into the rack, you may face some downtime. We shall confirm the downtime window soon by posting details on our site www.dinsol.info.

We are just upgrading the server’s hardware,  replacing the current servers within the same Data Center, keeping the server configuration, IP addresses and name server as it is. Your website, IP address, Name server entries will remain the same and will work as it is without any issue after the upgrade of server. You DO NOT need to change anything at your domain site or in your hosting account setting. With the upgrade/ replacement of hardware on these two servers, we are sure that our customers will have much better experience in terms of speed and connectivity.

This is to inform all the customers having their account on Server6, that we are performing urgent server maintenance at hardware level on Sunday June 15th 2008 at 3AM EST. During this time, server will be kept completely offline, and while we will do everything possible to minimize the downtime, you should expect up to 3hours of downtime. Hopefully downtime will be much less, but we are blocking the window period during this maintenance period to 3hours, to be safe.  We will be checking the Hard Drive for some technical issue, which is not yet confirmed.  

Please be patient during this periods from opening up support requests during the maintenance period.
